Objectives

• Exploration of new technologies to integrate heterogenous network technologies into the Future Internet
• Provisioning of a base for Internet of Things (IoT) research through integration of Wireless Sensor and Mesh Networks into the G-Lab experimental platform
• Enabling new kinds of applications based on real-time, non-editorial and automatically aggregated data
• Development of various fundamental technologies to enable the IoT:
  • energy-efficient communication protocols
  • energy-efficient monitoring and management solutions
  • abstraction from heterogeneity through development of a service based infrastructure
  • algorithms and protocols enabling network mobility

Validation of technologies and applications in real-world deployments, thereby providing high significance.
